Clam and Egg Bhurji – Vitamin B12 booster

Clam is one of the super rich food. I have posted Clam Soup recipe with complete details with nutrients, health benefits, and how to clean and cook the clams.

For clam egg bhurji, first clean the clams and take out the meat from it. We will use clam meat and eggs to prepare this masala.

Required ingredients:

cleaned clam meat – around 100g
oil – 2 tsp
ghee – 1 tsp
mustard urad dal – 1 tsp
curry leaves few
Shallots (small onion) – 6 to 7 finely chopped
tomato – 1 finely chopped
chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
cumin powder- 1/4 tsp
pepper powder- 1/4 tsp
turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
egg – 2
salt – as required

Preparation Method:

  • Heat kadai and add 2 tsp oil.
  • Add mustard urad dal and let it splutter.
  • Add curry leaves, finely chopped shallots and fry for couple of minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes.
  • Add 2 pinch salt as clams are salty naturally, you can check salt level later and add if required.
  • Add red chilli powder and fry until tomatoes become mushy.
  • Add clam meat and fry for couple of minutes.
  • Now, add coriander powder, cumin powder, pepper powder and turmeric powder and fry.
  • Add 1 tsp ghee and mix well.
  • Keep the mixed masala in a side.
  • Add eggs and mix well.
  • Once egg is half cooked, mix it with clam masala for couple of minutes.
  • The spice flavored clam egg bhurji masala is ready now.
  • Serve hot with rice or role it in chapathi and enjoy.
