Restaurant style Potato Mushroom Gravy

Potato and mushroom both are very tasty and many love these two vegetables. With mushroom we make many vegetables combination. Mushroom paneer is one of the best side dish too. The combination of mushroom and potato turns out to be super rich and yummy always. This potato mushroom gravy is so tasty for chapathi or roti. Adding capsicum to it gives nice flavor. This is one of my favorite side dish for chapathis. The almonds and cashew give it a rich creamy texture.

Required ingredients:

Potato – 1 medium cut into small cubes
Mushroom – 100g sliced
Onion – 1 Big, finely chopped
Green chilli – 1 slit
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – a twig
Tomato – 2, finely chopped
Ginger Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Capsicum – 1/4 cup, sliced
Salt – as required
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Nutmeg powder – 1/4 tsp
Aniseed powder – 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Cashew nuts – 5
Almonds – 10
Chopped coriander leaves – a handful.

Preparation Method:

  1. Heat Kadai and add oil.
  2. Add cumins, chopped onions and slit green chilli and fry for couple of minutes.
  3. Add cut potatoes and saute for couple of minutes.
  4. Add mushroom and saute until mushroom is completely cooked.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until raw smell goes off.
  6. Add finely chopped tomatoes and saute for 2 more minutes.
  7. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, nutmeg powder, aniseed powder and turmeric powder and saute until masala gets mixed well.
  8. Add sliced capsicums and saute for a minute.
  9. Add a cup of water and bring it to boil.
  10. Grind almonds and cashews adding little water to it.
  11. Add this ground nut mixer to the masala and cook.
  12. Cook until you reach the desired thickness.
  13. Add handful of coriander leaves and mix well.
  14. Serve hot with Chapathi or Roti.
