Potato Fry – Easy handy tasty side dish for rice
Tasty, easy and handy side dish for curd rice, dal rice and sambar rice. Everyone loves this at our home. The kids enjoy the delicacy of this dish always.
Here I present the method we usually prepare.
Required ingredients:
Potato – 2 medium size
Salt – as required
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Ground nut oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds and urad dal – 1 tsp
Preparation method:
- Wash and Peel the potatoes using a peeler.
- Slice the potatoes as thin round pieces.
- Take all the dry masala powders and salt in a bowl as shown below.
- Put the cut potatoes in the bowl along with dry masalas. Toss the cut potatoes until all the potato pieces are coated well with spice powders.
- Heat the kadai and pour 2 tbsp groundnut oil
- After oil is heated, add mustard seeds and urad dal.
- Once the mustard seeds crackle, add the potatoes mixed with masalas.
- Cook in medium flame in the starting then in low flame until done.
- Spread the potato pieces in the kadai.
- Turn the sides of each potatoes in the kadai, so that both sides are cooked well and raw masala doesn’t stick around in between potatoes.
- Once all the pieces both sides are cooked well, transfer to a serving bowl or packing box.
