Veg Semiya

The easy, tasty and healthy vegetable semiya is a handy recipe for breakfasts. This is one of the toddler friendly recipe as they enjoy the appearance of noodles.

I present the method we usually prepare here.

Required Ingredients:

Samolina semiya – 200g
Ground nut oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard / Urad dal – 1 tsp
Channa dal – 1 tsp
Ground nuts – 1 tbsp
Onion – 1
Tomato – 1
Beans – 50g
Carrot – 1
Capsicum – 1 small
Green Chilli – 2
Ginger – 1 inch
Salt – as required

Preparation Method:

  1. Heat kadai and Fry the semiya until it changes color slightly.
  2. Boil 2 ltr of water with 1/2 tsp salt.
  3. Add fried semiya in boiling water.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes until the semiya is soft.
  5. Drain the excess water using a strainer and keep cooked semiya separately.
  6. Cut the onion, ginger and vegetables into small pieces.
  7. Heat Kadai, add 1 tbsp ground nut oil.
  8. Once oil is heated, add mustard and urad dal for tempering.
  9. Add channa dal, ground nuts, ginger and curry leaves and fry for a minute.
  10. Add sliced onions and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
  11. Add salt and continue sauteing
  12. Add beans, carrot and capsicum pieces and fry for 5 minutes.
  13. Add tomato and fry until it gets mashed.
  14. Now add cooked semiya in the kadai and mix well with vegetables.
  15. Once mixed well, you can shift to hotpot or serving plate.

You can serve this with your favorite chutney, Tomato Ketchup or even with pickle.

Add tomato and fry until it gets mashed.

Now add cooked semiya in the kadai and mix well with vegetables.

Once mixed well, you can shift to hotpot or serving plate.
