Mushroom paneer gravy – How to prepare it for chapathi in restaurant style
The mushroom paneer masala is tasty side dish for chapathi. Both mushroom and paneer gives its nice flavor along with all the spices. Cashews and pistas gives it rich and creamy taste. Pistas gives it a unique taste to relish your taste buds.

Required ingredients:
For seasoning:
Ground nut oil – 1 tbsp
Curry leaves – few strands
Aniseed powder – 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
Cloves – 3
Cardamom – 2
Bay leaves – 2
Nutmeg powder – 1/4 tsp
Cinnamon powder – 1/4 tsp
To crush:
Ginger – 1 inch
Garlic- 8 cloves
To grind:
Cashews – 8
Pistachio – 8
Vegetables:
Green peas – 1 tbsp
Onion – 1
Mushroom – 150g
Panneer – 1 cup
Tomato – 2 medium size
Green chilli – 2
Capsicum chopped – 1 tbsp
Masala powders:
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Salt – as required
Coriander leaves
Preparation Method:
- Cut onions and tomatoes finely.
- Chop the capsicum into small pieces.
- Clean the mushroom with damp cloth and cut into pieces.
- Heat the kadai and add oil.
- Once oil is heated, add all the ingredients listed in seasoning at once.
- Then add onions and green chilli.
- After Onion turns transparent, add curry leaves, capsicum and green peas. Fry for 2 minutes.
- Add mushrooms and salt. Fry well until mushrooms turn brown and crispy.
- Add crushed ginger and garlic; Fry till ginger’s raw smell goes off.
- Add chopped tomatoes and fry till it softens.
- Add turmeric, coriander powder, chilli powder and cumin powder. Fry until it gets absorbed in vegetables.
- Add 1 cup water and allow it to boil.
- After masala raw smell goes off, add garam masala. Add paneer and bring to boil.
- Add ground cashews and pista along with little water.
- Once it comes to boil, switch off the flame.
