Fenugreek leaves (methi leaves) are healthy greens with the goodness of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, iron and other minerals.
It has antioxidants and improves our immunity.
Consuming fenugreek leaves in the regular diet will help overcome anemic issues and hair fall.
One way of adding these healthy greens in our diet is to make tasty methi parantha.
It can be a great food for breakfast or dinner.

Methi paratha || Vendhaya keerai paratha
Ingredients
- 1 bunch Fenugreek leaves || Vendhaya keerai cleaned
- 2 cup Wheat flour
- ¼ cup Yoghurt
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 Green chilli finely chopped
- ¼ tsp Asafoetida powder || Perungayam podi
- 2 Pinch Turmeric powder
- ¾ tsp Salt adjust as per your taste
- ½ tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp Oil for kneading dough
- 1 tbsp Butter or Ghee To apply on top of paratha
Instructions
- Clean and chop the fenugreek leaves finely. Discard the stems.
- In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, yoghurt, chopped fenugreek leaves, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt, green chilli, asafoetida powder, garam masala and salt.
- Knead the wheat flour with all other ingredients adding water little by little.
- Add oil and knead the dough until it becomes soft.
- Cover and let it rest for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Then make a small ball and flatten like chapathi / flat bread by dusting with some flour.
- Heat the pan and place the flattened chapathi.
- On a medium flame, cook on both sides by flipping to each side.
- Apply little butter on each side.
- Serve hot with your favourite side dish and sliced onions.

2. Chop the fenugreek leaves finely. Discard the stems.
3. In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour and fenugreek leaves.
4. Add yoghurt, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt, green chilli, asafoetida powder, garam masala and salt.
5. Knead the wheat flour with all other ingredients adding water little by little. Add oil and knead the dough until it becomes soft. Cover and let it rest for about 15 to 20 minutes.

7. Flat round shaped dough is ready to cook.
8. Heat the pan and place the flattened chapathi.
9. On a medium flame, cook on both sides by flipping to each side.
10. Apply little butter or ghee on each side.
11. Serve hot with your favourite side dish and sliced onions.
