Healthy Homemade Banana Wheat Pancake
Pancakes are most popular breakfast foods in many countries like our South Indian rice pancake ‘Dosa’! While we get bored of Dosa somedays we like to make the english style pancakes too occasionally. Earlier days, we used to buy ready-made pancake mixes from the stores and make, to please our kids as they love sweet pancakes a lot.
Ready-made mixes most of the time use the all-purpose flour (maida) along with some white sugar. I wanted to avoid both the whites… yes both white sugar and white maida.
Instead make the healthy version of pancakes and at the same time it should be appealing to kids as well. So, I tried this wheat pancake along with honey sweet bananas.
The real sweet banana and wheat flour mix has given me the result that I wanted. We can have these banana pancake along with some sweet banana pieces and honey toppings or maple syrup or we can have them with some sweet spicy chutneys as well.
It purely depends on your choice when it comes to side dish. I have used honey toppings for the kids, but I personally like little spicy stuff, so I add some sweet spice chutney like tomato chutney or ginger chutney.
Choosing banana for this recipe places an important role in the taste of pancake. You need well ripened sweet bananas. Those with some brown spots on the peels are the perfect to use here.
The preparation is really easy and takes less time. Literally it will be ready instantly. So you can opt for this recipe when you have less time to prepare tiffin.
