Badam Health Benefits| Badam ladoo | How to make dry fruits ladoo
Badam laddu / ladoo recipe with step-by-step pictures and video recipe along with the health benefits of badam.
Badam is nutrient rich nut. One of the must have dry fuit. I have been trying to give at least 4 nuts daily to my underweight picky eater kid to improve his nutrient intake. But, he didn’t like plain Badam. So, I made this ladoo and it was well received by both my kids.
For the kids with poor appetite and intake, this badam ladoo comes for help.
The Badam ladoo recipe takes just about 15 minutes only to prepare and relish.
Tips for making Badam ladoo without ghee
In this recipe, I have not used any ghee or butter. Just the badam oil that comes out while grinding it was sufficient. To get it in the laddu making consistency, we need to grind the badam when it is still hot. If you would like to add ghee for its flavor, you may add 1 tbsp ghee.
I let it cool down for less 5 than minutes, only until roasting the cashews. You should grind it before it is completely cooled down to get badam and cashew mix in correct consistency. If it is cooled completely, we get badam powder while grinding, then we might need to add 1 to 2 tbsp ghee to combine the powder.
I have added cashews as well for making this ladoo. The reason is that we all like the taste of cashews more compared to almonds. So, I wanted to add the cashew flavor in it to make it more tastier. You could use just the badam if you prefer so.
A pinch of saffron can give it nice flavor. But, this is completely optional. You can leave it if you don’t have or not prefer to add.
Further, I used palm sugar to make this sweet ladoo. I preferred it over white sugar or brown sugar as I wanted to give this ladoo on daily basis for kids. You could use sugar or jaggery or palm jaggery depending on the convenience of availability and your interest.
You can add roasted grated coconut too if you like the taste. But if you add coconut, the shelf life is reduced and you need to store in refrigerator after making it. I have not added coconut flakes this time, it tasted great without it too.
Final and important tip to make soft oily ladoo, grind it in pulse mode until its coarse powder. Then grind faster for the oil to release. If you grind faster from the starting, the oil will be released and it will not be ground evenly. So, to get evenly ground soft ladoo, first pulse and then grind faster.

How to Store Badam ladoo
You can store it in room temperature for a week time in an airtight container. If you want to store for longer days, you can refrigerate and have it. But, I do not prefer to keep it for longer days as it may become hard.
