Add 2 tbsp oil in a preheated kadai.
After it becomes hot, add mustard urad dal and let it crackle.
Add few curry leaves, finely chopped onion and required salt. Saute until onion changes color.
Add ginger garlic paste and saute until its smell goes off.
Add red chilli powder and coriander powder and saute for few seconds.
Add tamarind pulp and turmeric powder.
Now, add the gonkura masala mix paste.
Adjust the water consistency for gravy by adding required water.
Bring this mix to boil and cook until you see the oils are floating up.
Now, add the fish pieces and cook for 5 more minutes or until the fish is cooked.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Mix and serve along with rice.
